Building Connections

At Bridges, we create opportunities for meaningful community involvement for our young people, situations that foster interaction with diverse individuals laying a foundation for an active, constructive contribution to society.

Family Involvement

We partner with families to provide children with enriching personal growth experiences and superior education. Together, we can create outstanding individuals and exemplary world citizens. Community service is a concept critical to our program — and parents are important role models. There are many different ways to get involved and easily complete 15 volunteer hours per year.

How Our Families Get Involved

  • Read with emerging readers — join our reading workshop in October to prepare.
  • Share your professional expertise and special talents with the students.
  • Participate in our many classroom celebrations and special events, such as our annual Mother’s Day tea and our popular Father’s Day event.
  • Attend school-wide events, such as book fairs, family sing-a-longs, road and beach clean-ups, and field day.
  • Become a Classroom Ambassador — a liaison between teachers and families — to help build classroom unity, support fundraising events, help organize class socials, and coordinate special events and celebrations.
  • Attend a special Meet and Greet for new parents before the start of the school year.
  • Participate in our Parent Education Workshops during the school year to learn more about the Montessori curriculum and other topics of interest.
  • Join our monthly Conscious Discipline Workshops, offered on campus for a nominal fee.

Community Events

School traditions and annual community events are fundamental threads throughout the rich tapestry of the Bridges experience. Year after year our children and families look forward to these events as milestones and rites of passage.

Service Learning

Our rich history of service starts from an early age within the context of the multiage classroom. Each year, every classroom commits to its own new service learning project.
